Hunt in Pairs
We were conceived as pairs. A cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes, one from each parent, one the alter ego of another. Thus, pairs flourish across genres – be it sports, business, technology or entertainment.
Pairs compliment. Buffet hunted “value” deals, Monger paid fair price for winners. While Laxmikant excelled in vocals, Pyarelal sounded the orchestras. You kept your bat out, Wasim nicked your edge; You kept it in, Waqar crushed your toes.
Pairs outpace each other. Shankar and Jaikishan each composed their songs, Hewlett and Packard their own devices. Ovett and Coe’s British team rivalry pushed them to multiple world records over middle distance.
Pairs are companions when down. When Holmes was on his cocaine trips, Watson kept the hunt alive. Damon and Pythias each offered their lives for the other to win freedom for the pair.
In April, several early OFBians celebrated their anniversaries. On being quizzed about their success, each pointed to another OFBian at work.
Pairs in personal life are celebrated, but that’s subsistence. Be it in complimenting, pacing or through companionship, pairs in professional can make you hunt for glory!
