I joined OfBusiness two and half years ago; back then, I had no experience in the Polymer Industry or Sales. I was very new to the efforts that go into a price negotiation, acquiring a new client, and selling products. But I was very eager to learn and take on new challenges. I started as an executive and gradually began to know the Polymer industry. It was a very new experience for me. At OfBusiness, I was blessed with mentors, seniors, and colleagues that always pushed me to my limits.
Initially, getting into the Polymer market, especially in the north region, has many barriers due to cartels and a clear presence of monopoly by many players. Thus, establishing OfBusiness in the market was tough. However, as it is rightly said, the harder the journey, the more the learnings. I learnt something new every day here. After 2.5 years at OfBusiness, I can proudly say that the journey that began with many ups and downs has successfully led to a point where I head Sales in the North region of the Polymer Industry. Today we have grown to be a proud team of 20 members, and we work hard towards our goals.
When the Covid waves began, it became difficult to maintain our growth rate due to continuous price fluctuations in the market; however, even then, we managed to penetrate the market that was mostly led by established businesses. Since I joined, our customers have increased sevenfold, and we have successfully established ourselves in newer markets such as Jaipur, Mumbai and Chennai. Although I will agree that keeping up with our customers’ expectations is tough, and it sometimes becomes hectic to get the order, process it and dispatch it on the same day, but what’s work without a little thrill. The Environment here supports nothing but growth and encouragement.
In just 4 years, OfBusiness has successfully sold 75000 Tonnes of Polymers to more than 300 Small and Medium Size Enterprises. My goal will always be to empower the SMEs to become larger, stronger and sustainable by helping them overcome the challenges they often face in the market. In the coming years, we plan on getting the MOUs of all the imported suppliers. We now wish to take on newer challenges, expand our team, and touch markets pan-India. To end this, I would like to add that with the right environment and with the right guidance, even with little work experience, you can successfully make the right career decisions.
