Life begins when you want to

The ongoing India-England series is a big revelation for me. Not more than a decade back, the English were trundlers in limited overs’ cricket. And Indians, a star-studded side; whence if the stars failed, we stared down the barrel. But look at both sides now – aggressive batters, right down to the wire. Fielding every ball as if they were chasing for their lives. And bowling with such pace, swing and accuracy that the world takes notice.

What brought about this change?! Yes, they are younger sides now. Yes, they have a different think tank now. Yes, they are more fearless now. But, at the core, it’s the belief that if you want to do something (badly), it’s never too late. It’s when you want the end goal so badly, and you are ready to sacrifice all that you have, then the starting point doesn’t matter. You can sense that desire in almost every player of both sides on the field.

We have been big proponents of this theory at OfBusiness. When we have wanted something, we have wanted it badly. And then, we go for it madly. With our last drop of blood, sweat and tears. Whether it’s a business goal or an individual one.

When we were B2B commerce players and wanted to get into financing in 2017, all of us were new to it, but we all dived deep with all that we had. When we wanted to refocus on B2B in 2019, we did the same. We went all in. When some of us wanted to be fit physically some time back, we all transformed like no other. A lot of us have changed careers, functions and geographies, but we have always wanted to be super successful in where we landed, and that desire showed in the effort. Now when we are building our manufacturing capabilities, we are doing the same.

Life for us has always begun whenever we wanted to, irrespective of where we started from and when we started.
