 1^st: 10m Air Rifle, Beijing 2008. Bindra’s 10.7 ended an 80-year wait for individual excellence. Being an Indian wasn’t a disadvantage anymore.

 10^th: Roland Garros 2017. Nadal wins his 10^th French with stamina and top-spin. “Focus on one’s strengths is key to excellence” wasn’t just a theory.

 100^th: Mirpur 2012. Sachin reaches his 100^th 100. One could be “God” by deeds.

 1,000^th: Rio 1969. Pele scores his 1,000^th. Flair won over power, art over science and peasant over the elite.

 10,000^th: Ahmedabad, 1987. Each Pakistani celebrated Gavaskar’s 10,000^th run. Sports blurred political divide.

 There are goals and then there are goals for the soul; romantic, celebrated and each moment of it etched in memory forever. With excellence defined in statistics, sport sets up such goals.

Business gives you goals for the soul too; it’s all about numbers in business. Each company will remember its 1^st, 100^th, 1000^th and so on: be it in #customers, #revenue, #mcap and so on.

 OfBians, as nobodies, hit 1 cr in Mar 16. All our fluids (blood, sweat or tear), bones and sinews culminate in Mar 18.  It’s when we will cease to be good and begin our journey to great. It’s when the impossible will become probable. 100 cr in Mar 18 is our goal for the soul!
