Survival of the fittest
Last week, I came across 3 amazing stories of fitness transformations.
From a chubby teenager to a fitness demi-god, a look at Kohli shows that he’s got more intense, fit and hungry with age. A vegan diet with a 7-day training and 6-day gym schedule in a sport that does not necessarily need extreme fitness.
Pre-2010, Djokovic was known for his mid-match collapses in strenuous matches. A punishingly strict gluten free diet with a training regimen every 2 hours gives him the most fit tennis player “ever” tag today.
Michael Phelps started out as a below average guy. But for 15 years straight, he swam 80KM weekly (including Sundays). This in addition to 3 hours in the gym, daily! To compensate, he gorged 12,000 calories.
Along with a vocational edge, the 3 claim that pushing the envelope in fitness has made them happier, better people. All 3 started with the awareness that they weren’t fit enough and then had a strong desire to transform it.
We at OfBusiness, have mostly focused on the fitness of our business so far but now, growing number of OfBians are tying themselves to recreational running clubs, healthy diets and gym hours.
As a species, we survived evolution as the fittest “package”. We were lean, strong and chose the food we ate. Now’s not very different.
