Celebrating Womanhood

Various events like award ceremonies, talks, and cultural programs echoing the theme of ‘break the bias’ marked the women’s day celebration in most of the organizations across the world. However, the day at OfBusiness was unique in its own way. 

Driving the uniqueness by strong female leadership in the organization, the day started with gifting laptop stands in the shades of gray and black, a shift from colors traditionally associated with a feminine touch to something modern, breaking the bias as they call it. All the women in the house, right from the housekeeping staff to the CFO, gathered in a simple room in a refreshing break from five-star corporate events held at the occasion set equality standards within itself. What made it more candid was the stories of bias shared by the team members, far different from the times when women used to downplay their strengths. How someone at the biggest business consulting firms had to fight for her choices to how girls from the small towns had to fight their way out for education, everything was so inspiring and surreal. The celebration of womanhood was further complimented by a self-defense session so that women could act fast and get out unharmed in unfortunate circumstances. 

This unique and honest women’s day celebration gave the team members a sense of solidarity beyond our inherited boundaries. It inspired a spirit to fight back by breaking the self-imposed bars.
